As a freelance wedding videographer, I specialized in coordinating with clients ensuring every videography detail was thoughtfully planned before their big day. On the wedding day, I arrived fully prepared to capture all the unforgettable moments. My work took me across the country, filming a wide range of weddings and other events. I filmed everything from an aviation-inspired ceremony to a vibrant wedding set in the picturesque mountains of Colorado and even a Dungeons & Dragons-themed celebration! With extensive wedding experience under my belt, I later launched my own traveling wedding videography business, continuing my passion for telling love stories through film.
Before stepping into the business world, I attended college to obtain a degree in Video Production. I got the chance to create short films, product commercials, event highlight reels, and other types of videos. I discovered the film industry is both complicated and competitive but also a place where artists can use their skills to tell stories in a variety of ways. I hope to one day return to cinema filming, but I enjoy weddings and traveling too much!
After I collected my degree, I began to build my own business in Iowa before I moved to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. However, it became difficult to find clients in such an unknown location with such a new business. I decided to join a professional wedding business not only to find clients but also to learn from a larger company about the industry. After a couple years, we opened Driftwood Studios which is named after the street my husband grew up on!
